The world of cryptocurrencies is a fast moving place, and we’ve been hard at work adding new features to our Point of Sale terminals. For cryptocurrencies to continue to grow in utility and acceptance they must be simple and easy to use. Behind the scenes cryptocurrencies are deeply technical systems, but they can’t remain just in the purview of software developers and economists. 34 Bytes was founded with the goal of making cryptocurrencies easier to use in everyday life, and to help lower the barriers to usage for everyone.

More Currencies

First, we have heard from many, many people about other cryptocurrencies they would like to see on the terminal. So, we are excited to announce that we have just recently finished testing the addition of Litecoin and DASH to our services. Sometimes people say that Litecoin is to Bitcoin as silver is to gold. Whatever you think, its a highly respected and highly used currency that is continuing to see increasing interest. Dash offers several interesting features including InstantSend, and PrivateSend. Dash has been earning a reputation as cryptocurrency that is well suited for commercial, in-store transactions, so it only makes sense that it will be added to our terminals as well. The new currencies will require a simple firmware update on the terminal.

More Exchanges

One of the defining characteristics of our POS terminals is the way that they connect to cryptocurrency exchanges to facilitate simple cashing out to fiat (funds can also be sent to a cold wallet as well). Cryptocurrencies are borderless and global and there are more and more cryptocurrency exchanges that provide services for people and businesses in practically all regions of the world. It has always been a goal of 34 Bytes to get integrated with as many of those exchanges as possible. So, we are also excited to announce the addition of new exchanges to our service. We are adding CEX.io, Bitfinex, and Kraken to the list of crypto exchanges already supported by the terminal. We are continuing to add more exchanges and are always interested to hear what the community wants to see.
