34 Bytes Unveils New Backend Settlement Options

Hello,
My name is Stephen Karlsgodt. I’m the founder and CEO of 34 Bytes, LLC. We are designing and deploying bitcoin point-of-sale (POS) solutions to brick-and-mortar merchants and businesses. Our goal is to vastly improve the experience of in-person bitcoin payments, for both the merchant and the customer. We are working to streamline the the sales process, and bring some innovative features and capabilities into the space that will drive merchant and consumer adoption of bitcoin payments.
We’ve spoken with many merchants that currently (or used to) accept bitcoin at their business and have heard about a wide variety of experiences. Some merchants love it and customers it brings, some merchants have had some trouble, and some just stopped using it for some reason or another. Those cases generally seem to revolve around difficulties with ease-of-use of current solutions (using an app on smartphone or tablet), and low customer demand.
Currently we have a POS terminal that we are testing with local merchants to get feedback about how the terminal works for them and what features are important in their day-to-day use. Once we have some good initial feedback we will be making a bigger push into the market place.
We see a huge international opportunity in the future of cryptocurrency payments. There are just so many advantages over the legacy payment systems that are too good to ignore.
We will use this blog to keep the community up-to-date on what we are doing as things progress.
